Join the Future of Wrestling

. For Coach Chad Blevins, wrestling is more than just a sport—it’s a life-shaping journey. With a personal background in wrestling from junior high through high school and as a 2x California State Qualifier, Coach Blevins knows firsthand the discipline and resilience the sport demands. Since beginning his coaching career at just 18 years old in the year 2000, he has poured over two decades of passion and dedication into the mat. After four impactful years coaching at Provo High School, he found a long-term home at Mountain View High School, where he is now in his 19th year of coaching.

His greatest coaching achievement to date? Helping grow the Mountain View boys wrestling program to over 60 active wrestlers, while guiding numerous athletes to success—including Nathaniel Holt, a 2x national runner-up, and several state champions. One of his most unforgettable moments came in February 2025, when all five of the team’s senior wrestlers reached the state finals, a testament to the grit and growth he’s cultivated in his athletes.

Coach Blevins believes that “wrestling is a tool to develop a strong, resilient, and loving character.” He brings that philosophy to life with every practice, encouraging wrestlers to push their limits and become better versions of themselves both on and off the mat. His favorite move to teach is the head throw, and his advice for young wrestlers is simple but powerful: “Learn how to score a lot of points and improve yourself as a human being.”

Outside of coaching, Chad enjoys weightlifting, family vacations, and has a particular love for Thai food—a fun fact many may not know. One of his most cherished memories is coaching alongside his twin brother for over 20 years, an experience that has added a unique layer of joy and brotherhood to his coaching journey. And when he needs a boost of motivation, he turns to a classic quote from Rocky: “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward.”

Coach Blevins isn’t just shaping wrestlers—he’s shaping champions in life.

About

Wrestling is one of the oldest and most respected sports, combining strategy, skill, and athleticism. It challenges both the body and mind, teaching endurance, discipline, and mental toughness. Beyond the mat, wrestlers gain life skills like perseverance, respect, and confidence. More than a sport, wrestling shapes character, builds friendships, and fosters success on and off the mat.
