Join the Future of Wrestling

The 2024 Bruin Wrestling Summer Camp was a resounding success, bringing together young athletes eager to learn and grow in the sport. Held in June, the three-day camp welcomed 4th through 9th graders for an exciting mix of wrestling technique, live wrestling, weightlifting, games, a service project, and a pizza party.

Mountain View High School wrestlers played a key role, assisting club coaches in one-on-one instruction with the camp attendees. Their mentorship helped young wrestlers develop fundamental skills while gaining confidence on the mat.

Camp Highlights:

  • Dodgeball Showdown: Campers faced off against high school wrestlers in a fun and competitive game of dodgeball.
  • Service Project: The group cleaned cafeteria tables at MVHS, earning gratitude from the schoolโ€™s janitorial staff.
  • Technical Training: Wrestlers honed their skills through focused instruction and live wrestling sessions.
  • Team Bonding: A pizza party capped off the camp, rewarding the athletes for their hard work and dedication.

A special thanks to Coach Tanner Herrick and Coach Travis Blevins for leading this unforgettable experience. Their dedication and expertise made a lasting impact on the young wrestlers, paving the way for the future of Bruin Wrestling.

With another successful camp in the books, the Bruins are looking forward to a bright season ahead!

About

Wrestling is one of the oldest and most respected sports, combining strategy, skill, and athleticism. It challenges both the body and mind, teaching endurance, discipline, and mental toughness. Beyond the mat, wrestlers gain life skills like perseverance, respect, and confidence. More than a sport, wrestling shapes character, builds friendships, and fosters success on and off the mat.
