Join the Future of Wrestling

Mountain View High School proudly hosted the Utah Divisional and State Olympic & Powerlifting Championships on Tuesday, April 16th, from 2PM to 7PMโ€”an intense and inspiring day filled with strength, grit, and school pride.

Competing in three core liftsโ€”Squat, Bench, and Deadliftโ€”athletes from multiple schools gathered to battle it out for a chance to advance to the state championships. The energy in the gym was electric as lifters pushed themselves to the limit, fueled by roaring support from the crowd.

In a dominant performance, Mountain View High School took 1st place overall among all schools represented. Many of our athletes finished at the top of their weight classes, placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd across the board.

Notably, a large number of MVHS wrestlers joined the competition, showcasing their off-season power and athleticism alongside other standout athletes from our school. Their discipline and explosive strength were on full display throughout the meet.

A special thank you goes out to all the volunteer judges who gave their time and expertise to ensure the meet ran smoothly and fairly. This event would not have been possible without your support and dedication.

Congratulations to all the lifters who gave it their allโ€”your hard work is paying off, and the Mountain View community couldnโ€™t be prouder.

About

Wrestling is one of the oldest and most respected sports, combining strategy, skill, and athleticism. It challenges both the body and mind, teaching endurance, discipline, and mental toughness. Beyond the mat, wrestlers gain life skills like perseverance, respect, and confidence. More than a sport, wrestling shapes character, builds friendships, and fosters success on and off the mat.
