Mountain View Secures Historic Victory Over Juab Jan 2nd

Mountain View High School wrestling made history with its first-ever program win over powerhouse Juab High School! In a stunning performance, the Bruins defeated the eight-time 3A state champions with a commanding 49-28 victory. This 21-point triumph marked a significant milestone for the program, proving that Mountain View is a rising force in Utah wrestling.

Juab, a dominant program that went on to win its ninth consecutive 3A state title later in the season, entered the matchup ranked #6 in all of Utah and #1 in 3A. However, the Bruins refused to be intimidated, delivering a relentless effort from start to finish.

Two of the night’s biggest moments came from Joe Blackwell and Chris Torres, who pulled off incredible upset pins that extended Mountain View’s lead and sealed the historic win.

The night was made even sweeter as both JV and Varsity secured victories:

• JV Bruins defeated Juab 42-30
• Varsity Bruins took the win 49-28

With standout performances and a team full of rising talent, including the Grow brothers, the Bruins proved they are ready to compete with the best in the state.
